As
you can see, excavation is pretty much completed. The view is toward
the West. The pad can now be laid out. |
This
view is looking Eastward from the bottom. There is still quite a
bit of rubble to remove before the pad can be laid out.

|
Before
the slab can be "poured" the utilities must be carefully
placed. Here you see the craftsmen installing the sewer lines. |
Here
is a second perspective of the sewer line being laid out.

This
is a shot of the pipes that will store the hot water for the solar
heating system. They will be embedded in the basement slab |
After
the plumbing is completed everything is buried in sand. The sand
is compacted and ready for the concrete slab to be poured over it.
|
|
|
Three
concrete trucks and a crew of 7 were utilized for pouring of the concrete
slab. This concrete has embedded fibers for added strength. |
Looking
North, more or less through the garage door opening, you can see
the crew putting the finishing touches on the "slab".
